Welcome to Mrs. Lepisto's Speech and Language site!

Welcome to my blog! This is the place to come to find out what is happening in speech and language at Wilson School! Along the left side there are useful links and tips for you to practice speech and language skills at home. I will post a question of the month to use as a springboard for discussion at home. On the right side of the page is a list of other speech and language blogs I follow. You may find other helpful information on these blogs too.

Question of the Week April 15-19

Question:  Do you remember the important parts to retell a story clearly and correctly?  Retell one of your favorite stories to someone.

Answer:  The Three Little Pigs (It's one of my favorites!)

1.  Setting=In the three houses built by the pigs
2.  Characters=3 Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf
3.  Problem=The three little pigs set out to build houses of their own.  The big bad wolf wanted to eat the three little pigs.
4.  Beginning=The three little pigs set out to build houses of their own. The first little pig builds a house of straw.  The big, bad wolf blows down the house of straw.  The first little pig runs to the second little pig's house.  The big, bad wolf follows them.
5.  Middle=The second little pig builds a house of sticks.  The big, bad wolf blows down the house of sticks.  The two little pigs run to the third little pig's house.  The big, bad wolf follows them.
6.  End=The third little pig builds a house of bricks.  The big, bad wolf tries to blow down the house of bricks, but he cannot.
7.  Solution=The three little pigs put a pot of boiling water in the fireplace and the big bad wolf falls into it when he slides down the chimney.  The big bad wolf runs away and never returns to bother the three little pigs.  The three little pigs live happily ever after.
