Welcome to Mrs. Lepisto's Speech and Language site!
Welcome to my blog! This is the place to come to find out what is happening in speech and language at Wilson School! Along the left side there are useful links and tips for you to practice speech and language skills at home. I will post a question of the month to use as a springboard for discussion at home. On the right side of the page is a list of other speech and language blogs I follow. You may find other helpful information on these blogs too.

Give Me 5
This week our language groups focused on becoming better listeners. To do that the "Give Me 5" strategy was introduced. Give Me 5 is a strategy used to show how our whole body is used to listen better so we can learn, earn rewards, and to stay safe.
Map Project
This week we focused on the final /p/ sound (eg: pop, soap, map). For our art activity, we made our own "Map" from Dora the Explorer. While the students colored and assembled their own "map", we played the "map" song from the Dora the Explorer show. The students were so proud of their "Map" as well as had many opportunities to hear and practice correctly saying the final /p/ sound.
